Scandinavias Venice

Central Stockholm means plenty of boats. Called the Venice of Scandinavia it´s bound to have!
This picture is on Söder mälarstrand where a lot of boatplaces can be found here and there. Even though our climate makes usage of a boat restricted to basically 6-7 months (at the very very most) it´s extremly popular and extremly wanted to have a boatplace centrally.

Me and a friend have discussed having a boat ourselves but we concluded that it´s way to much cash for something you use far to little.
Unfortunatly there will be no post until wednesday evening. I´m going to the north of sweden with work and I´m due back late wednesday. Catch you then people!

This looks like fun! But, your right they are a lot of work and money. My parents have a little sail boat and are lucky to get it in the water once a year!

This photo makes me want to be there NOW. A really nice capture of the scene. My husband also thought about how we could have a boat cheaply. We bought a sailboat from someone who wanted to get rid of it, and kept it trailored (rather than on the water) and hoisted it in at the local marina when we wanted to sail. It was very economical, and got us out on the bay. You could share a boat between several friends, like some cities have shared car programs. . .good luck to you on this. And hope you didn't have to work too hard/drive too far.
